Sure, those were some impressive effects and backgrounds, but like Avatar, the story was wanting and there's a need these days for more in terms of narrative. Take a look at the likes of Toy Story - animation was excellent and the story was universally touching and endearing. Kitsch could have definitely been a little bit more charismatic but the flick still works due to amazing special effects and some really fun and exciting action.
