We're moving into the latter part of the year for movie releases, but there's still quite a bit to come.

One of those which has had its premiere at Toronto International Film Festival is The Impossible, starring Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.

"A powerful story based on one family's survival of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, The Impossible
stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and is directed by J.A. Bayona (THE ORPHANAGE).
Maria (Naomi Watts), Henry (Ewan McGregor) and their three sons begin their winter vacation in
Thailand, looking forward to a few days in tropical paradise.

But on the morning of December 26th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities the night before, a terrifying roar rises up from the center of the earth. As Maria freezes in fear, a huge wall of black water races across the hotel grounds toward her...."

It's been a massive weekend for the Armageddon Expo 2012 - with over 50,000 fans packing through the ASB Showgrounds over the past 4 days, it's clearly been a success for another year.

Despite grey skies hovering over Auckland's ASB Showgrounds, there were still a whole heap of people attending the Auckland leg of the Armageddon Expo.

Organiser Bill Geradts told me today there were some 50,000 fans through the gates since the Friday evening - so it was going great guns.
