Ubisoft Brings Back A Fan Favourite With TRIALS® RISING

UBISOFT BRINGS BACK A FAN FAVOURITE WITH TRIALS® RISING
The Most Ambitious Title in the Series to Date Offers Hours of Epic Rides Around the World and Never-Ending Competition

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA  June 13, 2018 —Ubisoft has revealed Trials® Rising, the newest iteration of the gripping Trials motorcycle platform series. The game will be released worldwide in February 2019 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, Nintendo SwitchTM and Windows PC.

Ubisoft RedLynx, a studio based in Helsinki (Finland), returns with the biggest and most compelling sequel of the franchise to date, combining the classic demanding gameplay, a fresh look, more competition and over-the-top action praised by fans, plus all-new features. The game was developed with Ubisoft Kiev (Ukraine) in collaboration with Ubisoft Odessa (Ukraine).

Set in new epic locations around the world and featuring more tracks than ever before, Trials Rising lets riders travel the world and put their skills to the test through various levels of difficulty, beat the competition, grow their fame under the eyes of experienced sponsors and work to become Trials champions. While enjoying the view of the Eiffel Tower or riding along the Great Wall of China, riders won’t be able to resist the thrill of astonishing exploits and fails on their way.

From local backyard competitions to the biggest stadiums on the world stage, each player is the master of their own fate and must compete against other players as fully visualised ghosts or in real-time local and online multiplayer. Getting to the top of the leaderboard isn’t the only path to success: with the new Contracts feature, sponsors reward players as they progress through their career, with new challenges to achieve at every step.

Trials Rising also adds an exciting new Tandem Bike multiplayer mode for players to expand their coordination skills and ride with their friends. Two riders, one bike, looking for the perfect line on an over-the-top, action-packed track: surprises and hilarity to ensue!

Players will also have the freedom to customise their rider and bike gear with unlimited possibilities. Everybody can share their custom gear with the community and will earn in-game rewards when other players use them. Trials Rising hearkens back to the franchise’s roots and brings back the core gameplay fans know and love. Powered by the community’s feedback, the team crafted an always-on game that guarantees never-ending experiences.

Players and fans can start registering now to take part in the forthcoming closed beta at trialsgame.com/beta. Registered gamers will have a chance to play the game and provide feedback to help the dev team deliver the most immersive and enjoyable experience at launch.

Four New Heroes Enter The Battlefield In FOR HONOR® MARCHING FIRE, Launching October 16

FOUR NEW HEROES FROM THE FAR EAST ENTER THE BATTLEFIELD IN FOR HONOR® MARCHING FIRE, LAUNCHING OCTOBER 16

Includes New Faction, 4v4 Game Mode, Unlimited PvE Content, Significant Graphical Enhancements and more on dedicated Australian servers

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — June 13, 2018 —Ubisoft has announced Marching Fire, a new update coming to For Honor®. Marching Fire introduces the game’s largest post-launch content update and includes the new Wu Lin faction, a new 4v4 PvP mode, unlimited PvE content and more. The update will be available October 16 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including Xbox One X and Windows PC.

Available as part of the Marching Fire update are four new heroes of the Wu Lin – a new faction inspired by ancient Chinese martial arts. The four new heroes include the Tiandi, the Jiang Jun, the Nuxia and the Shaolin, who have traveled from the east to escape a civil war that has consumed their homeland following the cataclysm. Each consumed by their own motivations, ranging from betrayal to personal tragedies, these Wu Lin heroes bring a brand-new set of weaponry and fighting styles to add more versatility to the battlefield. All Wu Lin heroes can be recruited using in-game Steel following an initial exclusivity period.

Players will have access to the four warriors of the Wu Lin, alongside the existing roster of 18 heroes in a brand-new 4v4 PvP game mode, Breach. The mode will be free for all players and is playable across three new maps, allowing players to live the fantasy of storming or protecting a well-fortified castle armed with ballistae and cauldrons of fire as well as archers and a heavily armoured ruler looking to protect his land. Attackers and defenders must strategically maneuver the battlefield as they escort or attempt to destroy a battering ram to gain access to the castle.

Marching Fire will also introduce new unlimited PvE content playable in single-player and two-player online co-op. This new PvE mode will be available as part of the paid bundle, which also includes the Wu Lin heroes. More details about the PvE content and the paid bundle will be revealed soon.

Finally, all players will also benefit from free graphical enhancements that will improve the in-game textures, introduce a revamped lighting system and new sky gradients and also provide further quality of life improvements including an updated user interface.

In celebration of the Marching Fire announcement, all PC players can get the For Honor PC Starter Edition for free via Uplay or from the Ubisoft Store June 11–18. The PC Starter Edition gives players full access to all multiplayer game modes and the campaign mode, as well as the three Vanguard heroes with additional heroes being recruitable using in-game Steel. All PC versions of the game will also be on sale for up to 75% off through June 18. Console players can take advantage of the up-to-75% discount on For Honor on Xbox One until June 17 and PlayStation®4 system until June 19.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios,* For Honor offers an engaging campaign and thrilling multiplayer modes. Players embody warriors of the three Great Factions – the bold Knights, the brutal Vikings and the deadly Samurai – fighting to the death on intense and believable melee battlefields. The Art of Battle, the game’s innovative combat system that puts players in total control of their warriors, allows them to utilise the unique skills and combat style of each hero to vanquish all enemies who stand in their way. With new training modes and dedicated servers, there has never been a better time to play For Honor.

Lady Bird: DVD Review

Lady Bird: DVD Review

That Lady Bird is such a delight is a testament to Greta Gerwig's sudden apparent spurt of cinematic maturity.
Lady Bird: Film Review

Frances Ha, while mainly lauded, was a source of hipster irritation in extremis, a film that tried so hard, it practically burst out of the screen and demanded you love it.

But Lady Bird, a coming-of-age and relationship film, positively bursts with joviality, relatability and universal themes  that it makes its 90 minute run time feel just about right.

Ronan plays the precocious, yet familiar, flawed and relatable teen Christine, the self-penned Lady Bird, a teen growing up in the suburbs of Sacramento, California in 2002.

Lady Bird: Film Review

Burdened with life at a Catholic high school and with a desire to escape to New York for college, Lady Bird's tribulations are all-too familiar to anyone who was an adolescent (ie everyone).

Quarreling with her mother (played with empathy and frustration by Laurie Metcalf), neogtiating a way to get better grades and dipping her toes in the relationship pool, Lady Bird finds growing up isn't as easy as her sassy outlook would have her believe.

Much like the wise-cracking of Juno, and just about every coming-of-age film you've ever seen, Lady Bird manages to subvert some of the tropes of the genre with deftness by Gerwig and her leading lady, Ronan.

From touches like holding off make up and letting Ronan's acne stand out on the screen to the wonderful cut-scenes that capture simultaneously the beauty and boredom of small town life, Gerwig's Lady Bird grounds itself in such innate realness that it's everyone's slice of life, in some form or other.  It crackles with a contagious freshness too, from sparky dialogue to subtle small reactionary moments.

And that's where the strength lies - Gerwig's characters are all true to themselves; there are no (spoiler alert) Hollywood style big moments here - everything that happens feels like it should happen and never feels like the audience or, crucially, the characters are cheated.

While the film judders a little towards the end, stuttering towards a resolution, it's the small moments and the small senses of victory, mistake, bittersweet regrets writ large and relationship between a mother and daughter which make Lady Bird such a success.

Likely to be embraced by a generation searching for some kind of heroine embodiment of their awkwardness, Lady Bird also wins because its titular character gets by (or not) on her own strengths, and on nobody else's validations.

Lady Bird: Film Review

Not only one for the hipsters, Greta Gerwig's Oscar-nominated Lady Bird is an honest film for the generations; a small yet familiar appealing coming-of-age tale which is all of us - and which makes us proud to admit it
