Ubisoft Montpellier’s Microgravity Arcade Shooter Comes to PlayStation^®VR

Ubisoft announced that Space Junkies™, a jetpack-fueled arcade shooter developed exclusively for virtual reality gaming, will be available March 26 on PlayStation^®VR, Windows Mixed Reality headsets, Oculus Rift + Touch and HTC Vive. Space Junkies can be pre-ordered on Steam and Oculus Store starting today and on the PlayStation Store on February 20.

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and powered by Brigitte, a new proprietary virtual reality engine designed to allow teams to work seamlessly in virtual spaces and adapt to VR pre-production and production, Space Junkies offers a fast-paced multiplayer action experience set in three-dimensional space arenas and leverages full VR embodiment to immerse players in intense microgravity battles.

The PlayStation VR version of Space Junkies will support the DUALSHOCK^®4 controller, and feature a unique navigation system that allows players to fly at speeds through immersive vertical battlespaces. Players will also have full use of the SIXAXIS^® controls for unique embodiment in VR.

At launch, Space Junkies will offer 1v1, 2v2 and free-for-all modes, as well as a wealth of different weapon and customisation options across six varied interior and exterior battlefields. Each arena features unique tactical zones, dynamic lighting and breakable environments. No battle will feel the same, and players will need their wits and combat skills to avoid death coming fast from all directions. Additionally, the game will receive new content updates beyond release, including new modes, maps, weapons and customization items.

Several test phases will be held prior to launch, including an Open Beta across all platforms. Players can register to participate in closed tests at https://betasignup.ubisoft.com/sjreg/LogIn.

Those anticipating Space Junkies before its official retail release can already get a full, unique experience with Space Junkies Arcade, a dedicated version of the game available in more than a hundred of VR arcades worldwide. Prior to the launch, Virtual Athletics League will also be kicking off an international tournament in partnership with Ubisoft, Springboard VR and HP on February 19. The competition will pit the best teams from participating arcades against one another for $4,500 USD in gear and prizes. Ubisoft also announced details around the Deluxe Edition, Gold Edition, and Ultimate Edition for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege,  to support the start of brand new content for Year 4. Players can purchase the new editions starting today. All current Year 4 editions will see a price reduction.

Year 4 of Rainbow Six Siege will introduce permanent DLC Operator Price Reductions, through the implementation of a scaling DLC operator pricing system. Older DLC Operators will be less expensive and more easily unlocked.

·         Starter Edition

The PC Starter Edition is being removed from digital stores. All current owners of the Starter Edition will be automatically upgraded to the Rainbow Six Siege Edition. For current Starter Edition owners, all progression and content previously unlocked will be carried over. By removing the Starter Edition, all new players save approximately 150 hours unlocking all base operators at the current progression system rates.

·         Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

The Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege edition provides access to all maps and content and reintroduces the progression system for unlocking all 20 Legacy operators. This edition will cost $19.99 and is available on PC.

·         Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition includes all content from the Rainbow Six Siege Edition alongside all Year 1 Operators. This edition will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

·         Gold Edition

The Gold Edition provides all the benefits of the Deluxe Edition plus the Year 4 Pass, which grants early access to all 8 Year 4 Operators. This edition will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

·         Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition unlocks all Operators in-game through the end of Year 3, as well as the benefits of the Year 4 Pass (Operators included). This version grants access to all 52 existing Operators, including every DLC Operator. This editions will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
