JBL Tour One M3: Review
JBL's commitment to quality gear continues with the JBL Tour One M3 ANC headphones, a headset that looks and feels as premium as it is.
It has everything you'd expect and want from JBL - a polished sleek look, a long-life battery and good-quality sound that oozes from the earpieces that sit snugly on your head.
Priced to compete with the likes of Bose and Sony, the headset itself feels like the kind of kit you can buy once and once only, as it carries on working like you'd need it to for years. JBL has always been committed to longevity and delivering the kind of products that ensure brand loyalty, and this Tour One M3 is no exception to the rule.
With plenty of padding in the earcups as well, there's no sign of any loss of comfort for what's needed here and certainly, these are headphones that you can keep on wearing for as long as you need - and want - to.
Understated and lightweight, the headset is the kind of thing you can leave around your neck when you're not using and not feel like there's a drag on your neck area; there's no additional pressure in more ways than one, and as a result, this headset feels like it forms part of a seamless outfit aimed at looking as good as it works.
With a chance to tap and pause audio via the right ear, and the option to pick up wireless calls that don't dip in quality, there is plenty of control literally in the palm of your hands. And given the noise cancellation works solidly (even if using it dips the battery life down from 70 hours to about 40) it's a useful way to stay locked in your own world and inside the audio that you want to enjoy.
Weighing in at around 280g and looking polished the JBL Tour One M3 are a robust set of headphones that more than deliver what they need to - JBL has no business continuing to provide quality gear like this and while there are very few improvements than with the previous iteration, these are designed to last and outplay everyone else.
Using the app can control the level of noise-cancelling you want to take on board and it's here that the device comes into its own for personalisation. Add to that the fact there's the Smart TX transmitter set that allows you to stream audio from other sources, and really the JBL Tour One M3s have it wrapped up.
Sure, there are plenty of over-ear headsets out there, but given JBL has produced one that once again works with ease of use for the user and never compromises on quality of sound, it's hard to see why you'd look elsewhere.
