Enhanced and rebooted for next gen consoles, the legendary Doom 1 and II make a welcome return to the FPS genre.

Doom I and Doom II: PS5 Review

Upgraded and free for those who already own the games, it's a simple upgrade of everything you remember - shoot the marauding hordes and survive. With 25 new maps, a new pack for Multiplayer and the chance to enjoy the game in the 4K version, there's never been a better time to play.

With the Legacy of Rust expansion, two new episodes offering new weapons and new enemies, Nightdive Studios' expansion to the game hints at a future for Doom that had not previously been explored. But even with the new touches, it's the gameplay that you remember from before - no matter how slickly it's presented.

The imagery within Legacy of Rust pinpoints exactly why the gore game has been so beloved for so long. Hanging bodies litter areas, the nightmare edges made to burn into your nightmares. There's much to enjoy - and endure even for the seasoned player.

Ultimately, Doom I and Doom II are a reminder of the power of simplicity - gameplay is eternal and the simpler it is, the more memorable it will be.
