What's on Neon NZ in January 2022

A New Year means plenty of new streaming opportunities - including the debut of Peacemaker on Neon NZ - among many others.

Peacemaker (January 14)

Set after The Suicide Squad, this series explores the origins of Peacemaker - a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it!

The Gilded Age (January 25)

From Julian Fellowes, the creator of Downton Abbey, The Gilded Age follows the millionaire titans of of New York City in the 1880s. The story begins in 1882 - introducing young Marian Brook, the orphaned daughter of a Union general, who moves into the New York City home of her thoroughly old money aunts Agnes van Rhijn and Ada Brook. Accompanied by Peggy Scott, an accomplished African American woman, Marian inadvertently becomes enmeshed in a social war between one of her aunts, a scion of the old-money set, and her stupendously rich neighbours, a ruthless railroad tycoon and his ambitious wife, George and Bertha Russell. In this exciting new world that is on the brink of the modern age, will Marian follow the established rules of society or forge her own path?

Euphoria (January 10)

Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate love and friendships in a world of drugs, sex, trauma and social media. Season two will explore the fallout after Rue and Jules broke up in the season one finale and as Rue goes through a drug relapse.

Discovery of Witches (January 9)

Now back in the present, Diana's pregnancy puts an  even bigger target on hers and Matthew's backs. Domenico continues to hunt for the vampire fuelled by blood rage.

The Wine Show (January 5) 

Join Matthew Goode (The Crown) and his friend Matthew Rhys (The Americans), as they take us on a fresh, accessible, and thoroughly entertaining journey into wine. Set in beautiful surroundings across Europe's wine regions, the friends head off on a new challenge in every episode, exploring different parts of the countryside, uncovering some of the best local wines and telling the stories that surround them. 

Liverpool Narcos (January 17)

In the 1980s, Liverpool became the epicentre of a drugs boom that was exploding around the world. A growing global drug trade began connecting European cities - especially port cities like Liverpool, Naples, and Marseille - direct to drug cartels in South America. The waves of first heroin, then cocaine and, finally, ecstasy that flooded into Liverpool in the 1980s and early 90s didn't just offer new opportunities for criminals - they transformed culture across the western world, both below and above ground. This is the story of how drugs went mainstream - and dealing became a multi-billion pound business. 

Billions (January 24)

The sixth and final season picks up after the shock twist in season five ending with Axe fleeing to Switzerland, marking the end of Damien Lewis' run on the show. Chuck now finds himself in another financial battle of the wills with the owner of Axe's companies. He must develop new strategies that are keener and more sophisticated than before. All the players, from Wags to Wendy, from Taylor to Sacker, and of course Senior, must sharpen their weapons and look for new alliances in order to survive.
