The weather is cooling down but the content is certainly heating up this June with so many new shows and movies to keep you entertained.

Starring Madeleine Sami and from the wickedly funny minds of Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, comes Australian Original Deadloch, where two vastly different female detectives are thrown together to solve the murder of a local man in what was once a sleepy seaside hamlet.

The fourth and final season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan finds the titular character on his most dangerous mission yet!

The Defenders is an incredible, nail-biting, race-against-time thriller which tells the gripping true story of Hakeem al-Araibi, a Bahraini footballer turned political refugee and the ordinary group of people that battled to save his life.

Other titles in June: Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Antony Starr; I’m A Virgo, a darkly comedic fantastical coming-of-age joyride about a 13-foot-tall young Black man in Oakland, California; In Medellín, a man brings in his closest associates including Mike Tyson, to save his younger brother kidnapped by a violent cartel and Michael B. DEADLOCH

From the wickedly funny minds of Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan comes the eight-part crime comedy, Deadloch. The Tasmanian town of Deadloch, a once sleepy seaside hamlet, is left reeling when a local man turns up dead on the beach. Two female detectives are thrown together to solve the case: Fastidious local Senior Sergeant Dulcie Collins and a rough as guts blow in from Darwin, Senior Investigator Eddie Redcliffe along with their overeager junior constable Abby. As the town prepares to launch the annual arts, food and culture event - Winter Feastival - the trio have to put their differences aside and work together to find the killer.

TOM CLANCY’S JACK RYAN

The fourth and final season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan finds the titular character on his most dangerous mission yet: facing an enemy both foreign and domestic. As the new CIA Acting Deputy Director, Jack Ryan is tasked with unearthing internal corruption, and in doing so, uncovers a series of suspicious black ops that could expose the vulnerability of the country. As Jack and the team investigate how deep the corruption runs, he discovers a far-worse reality—the convergence of a drug cartel with a terrorist organisation—ultimately revealing a conspiracy much closer to home and testing our hero’s belief in the system he has always fought to protect.

THE COVENANT

Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant follows US Army Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Afghan interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim). After an ambush, Ahmed goes to Herculean lengths to save Kinley’s life. When Kinley learns that Ahmed and his family were not given safe passage to America as promised, he must repay his debt by returning to the war zone to retrieve them before the Taliban hunts them down first.

MEDELLÍN

Medellín follows Pablito, a young YouTuber fascinated by Pablo Escobar, who makes his dream come true by flying to Medellín to walk in the notorious drug lord’s footsteps. A few days later, a video is posted on social media, showing that Pablito has been kidnapped by a group of dangerous Narcos. He will only be released for a substantial ransom. « Plata O Plomo! ».
