Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight: Nintendo Switch 2 Review

Platform: Nintendo Switch 2
The Lego games franchise is starting to build up a series of Nintendo Switch 2 releases, with the bonus that these titles have largely released elsewhere already, so the portable handheld versions of the game actually benefit from being the complete edition.
This port of the release is faithful to what's already been out and more than capably delivers what you'd expect of the games - trademark humour, cartoony moments, solid combat and open world exploration.
The Lego games titles have always been a strong contender for pick up and play mentality that appeals to all ages. This latest takes that love to the extreme as it follows the entire Batman franchise story, delivering a fair bit of unlockable content and free-flow combat that apes the Rocksteady Games franchise that proved to be so popular.
Meshing together Batman's past on the screen and providing more of a homage to the series' enduring success, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight brings light platforming with a longer narrative into play, adding in stealth and hidden Lego builds to make a game that's fun for all ages - even if it does occasionally feel a little pick up and play, rather than long hours of gameplay.
In terms of the port, the title looks polished on the Nintendo Switch 2, barely dropping in fidelity or scope throughout. And there's no denying the game plays well on a portable, with the Nintendo Switch hardware coping with plenty of stud-breaking action on the screen, as soundtracks blare and hordes of villains try to overcome the bat.
Ultimately, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on the Nintendo Switch 2 is a solid port, a reminder of an enjoyable game that plays well and a sign that TT Games Studios pours a lot of love into its franchises and doesn't ever let the fans down.
