As we head into the final month of winter, there couldn’t be a better time to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy a good flick. This month we’ll see some exciting new titles and long-awaited returns all hit the screens, and trust us, they have all been worth the wait!

Wedding Season (August 4)

Imagine pretending to date a partner in order to survive a summer of weddings? Well that’s practically what happens in the new romantic comedy Wedding Season landing this month! Starring Australian actress Pallavi Sharda (Asha) as well as BAFTA award nominee Suraj Sharma (Ravi), the pair both find themselves pressured by their parents to find spouses. Asha proposes a plan to Ravi that would be a win-win for both: a pretend relationship to be each other's date to get through the upcoming wedding season. Through countless invitations, dances and dresses the pair slowly find themselves falling for each other. Maybe their parents were onto something after all?

 

The Sandman (August 8)

The highly-anticipated series based on Neil Gaiman’s groundbreaking horror comic book, The Sandman will finally drop on service this month! A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, the series will follow the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he's made during his vast existence. If horror is your thing, then strap in because this show is one of a kind! 

 

Locke & Key: Season 3 (August 10)

Magic fans, hold on tight because the final season of Locke & Key will officially blow your mind! In the thrilling final chapter of the series, the Locke family uncovers more magic within Keyhouse, while a new threat - the most dangerous one yet - looms in Matheson with plans of his own for the keys. Never Have I Ever: Season 3 (August 12)

Did someone say Never Have I Ever: Season 3 is finally dropping on Netflix?! That’s correct! Our fan favourite series is back with a new season where Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) continues to deal with the everyday pressures of high school and drama at home, while also navigating new romantic relationships. Also starring in this coming-of-age comedy is Darren Barnet, Jaren Lewison and Benjamin Norris. If you are craving a rom-com then look no further, this series has got you covered! 

 

Superwog (August 24)

For those looking for a dose of Aussie content, cult-favourite Superwog is landing later this month! Filmed in Melbourne, this comedy features the suburbs of Sunshine North and Avondale Heights and was created by the comic duo brothers Nathan and Theodore Saidden based on their Youtube sketches. Tune in to follow the story of Theo and Johnny who are codependent, dysfunctional best friends, struggling to make the leap into adulthood. Mayhem inevitably follows as the pair strive to fit in and find their place in the Australian suburbs.
