JBL Live Flex 3: Review

JBL Live Flex 3: Review

JBL's continuing commitment to audio quality takes another turn with these noise cancelling earbuds.

But more than just quality earbuds, the latest release from JBL has taken a major step with its smart charging case, something that displays all of the bits you'd need to see while your earbuds are "resting" overnight or while travelling.

JBL Live Flex 3: Review

It's this piece of tech that makes the set feel like it's something different, offering as it does a chance to control your music, switch up EQ settings and toggle between modes. It's a classy statement from a package for a market that already offers more than enough choices already.

While the earbuds themselves may not fully sit properly in your ears due to lack of tips at the end, the sleek sophistication that JBL delivers for its tech is obvious from the outside. A smooth silver look means the buds are impressive to view and feel like premium equipment from the side.

The Adaptive Noise cancelling also works well on these, with sounds being easily blocked out in favour of your own music choices and the option to take calls that focus squarely on those on the line, rather than others around you.

With a customisable app option available too, the EQ and sound quality you crave is literally a button or two away. It all functions as it should making life easier for the user and a quicker time needed to fiddle with such elements.

The buds also work off extremely fast charging too, meaning a 10 minute charge can give the user a burst of around 4 hours - a full charge can last up to 50 hours, meaning essentially you can get a working week's worth of time out of them.

There's a reliability to the JBL Live Flex 3 and it's something that shouldn't be knocked. With the addition of the smart charging case, they really do become an item whose portability and quality become major selling points.

A pair of JBL Live Flex 3 were provided for the purpose of this review.
