Shredders: The Full Ride Edition knows how to bro in the snow.
A snowboarding sim that shreds down the mountain, the game wastes absolutely no time getting down to its core mechanics and firing up its ideology - head down the powdery wastes and hit the tricks and bits to ensure you can score points and beat times.
Playing as two snowboarding content creators, you get to break into a major event and run amok with your camera and your ideas for content - it's perhaps a meta-approach to a sports sim and certainly gives way to plenty of bro action that's initially amusing but begins to grate as time goes on.
But as the story progresses, it opens up a world of newer stunts and tricks to execute, of higher achievements to reach for and of shredding over jumps and through flags. It may be easy to pick up and play, but harder tricks to do take time, practice and a modicum of luck to hit the moment you need.
From facing achievements in each task to excelling in them, there's plenty of challenge on hand here - as there is replay factor too with hard-to-master mechanics offering some sense of reward as well.
Visually the game looks crisp and motion is fluid - it's a fun ride and while it takes a little time to settle, once you get the basics down pat, there's snow chance you'll be ready to set aside Shredders: The Full Ride Edition without losing hours of time to the virtual slopes.
