Logitech G515 Rapid TKL Review
Keyboards are much of a muchness when it comes to gaming and everyday use.
They really just need to be responsive, work quickly when needed and also not be too noisy or out of place.
Logitech's G515 keyboard manages to do all of those things, ensuring a basic adherence to what's needed from a device such as that. And yet it still manages to do it while offering a premium experience at a slightly higher price.
Doing away with the right-hand side numberpad is an obvious visual moment that makes it stand out, but the slim frame also shows off what the Logitech style can deliver to those looking at a smarter, sleeker experienced piece of kit.
With its metallic switches and reliance on being wired, the keyboard can at times feel a little old-school in its adherence to what is needed. But that's not necessarily a bad thing and in truth, it delivers what it needs to when it comes to responsiveness and latency.
Its reliability in terms of performance also helps, ensuring that this is a piece of kit that can be used 24-7 without any real issues for users. Its lack of Bluetooth and wireless capability may catch some users on the backfoot but a wired approach ensures that there's consistency throughout, a touch that's often overlooked.
At just 22mm high, its thinness is one of its selling points, but don't mistake that thinness for compromising quality. The sturdy feel of the keyboard allows it to be bashed away repeatedly by gamers and everyday users, but also ensures that it never compromises on any of its abilities to deliver what's needed.
And with keys that can be coloured and personalised, Logitech know they can deliver what gamers want. It's less about daily use and there's less obvious clank and clunk of the keys as you bash away. But given most will use this for gaming, it's a small sacrifice to give up.
Ultimately, the Logitech G515 Rapid TKL impresses where it should - and while it's a little pricey for what is out there in the markeyplace, the pros outweigh the cons for anyone serious about how their gaming setup looks and plays.
