Small Town Scandal (February 9)

A Sky New Zealand Originals screen adaptation of Sainsbury’s hit true-crime parody podcast, made with the support of NZ On Air and the New Zealand Government’s Screen Production Rebate, Small Town Scandal dives into the eccentricities of rural life and our obsession with true crime. The series follows Toby (Sainsbury), a disgraced journalist turned podcast host, who returns to his hometown of Te Hōiho only to discover the bizarre death of his millionaire uncle who was killed, suspiciously, by an automatic lawnmower. As Toby digs deeper, he uncovers a web of secrets among the town’s quirky residents.

Sainsbury is joined by an all-star cast, including, Morgana O’Reilly (The White Lotus), Felicity Kendal (The Good Life) and Alexander England (Offspring), with a guest appearance from  Rose Matafeo (Starstruck).

Girl Taken (February 1)

The lives of twin sisters Lily and Abby are forever changed when Lily is kidnapped by her teacher. After years of torment in captivity, Lily manages to escape. However, her freedom brings new struggles, as her captor remains at large. Based on the novel Baby Doll by Hollie Overton.
