Reimagined for modern gamers, the original Gibson SG was an iconic controller for PlayStation®2 gamers, and proving that legends never die, recently made a triumphant return via the Black Gibson SG Guitar Controller, released to great acclaim in late 2025. Now arriving for a showstopping encore, the Gibson SG Cherry Guitar Controller is back in a fresh new Cherry finish, ideal for those long Spring evenings of rhythm gaming!

 

Like the Black version, the new Gibson SG Cherry Guitar Controller is compatible with PlayStation® consoles, both honouring and building upon the rock ‘n’ roll legacy of the original. Licensed for PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4 consoles, the Gibson SG Cherry Guitar Controller comes ready for Fortnite® Festival and Rock Band 4 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles and is also compatible with community rhythm games such as YARG and Clone Hero on PC and PC Handhelds. Classic Guitar Hero and Rock Band titles are also supported through a dedicated Legacy Mode.

 

Armed with a stacked set-list-of-features, the Gibson SG Cherry Guitar Controller takes full advantage of two decades of gaming hardware evolution, delivering a new generation of Guitar Controllers, built to last and designed for a modern gaming audience.

 

Created and engineered by many of the original RedOctane team who previously worked on the original Guitar Hero™ guitar controllers, the Gibson SG Cherry Guitar Controller looks as good on display as it controls in game, sporting a jaw-dropping matte Cherry body with an integrated matte black pickguard. 

 

The Gibson SG Cherry features the CRKD proprietary Hall Effect Strum Bar, delivering an ultra-precise input and a satisfying mechanical click feedback with every strum. Designed for peak performance, the technology ensures consistent accuracy through even the most demanding solos—so missed notes are no longer the controller’s fault!

 

Completing the design is the black OG-style Fret Neck, featuring mechanical frets and a Crown Inlay graphic proudly displayed on the headstock.

 

The Gibson SG Cherry Guitar Controller features the signature CRKD 8-action button navigation hub, complete with left and right analog sticks and a discreetly placed D-Pad on the back of the headstock, providing seamless menu navigation and additional functionality. Discrete Platform Slider allows gamers to quickly toggle between PS5™, PS4™, Legacy Mode and PC Mode, and the Hall Effect Whammy Bar won’t let gamers down in those crucially timed activations!

 

Through the CRKD App (CTRL), players can unlock a wide range of customization options and features, including button remapping, strum bar sensitivity adjustment, tilt activation settings, and firmware updates. The app also allows owners to register their product as part of the True Collection System, adding it to their personal library of CRKD collectibles with a unique product number and rarity rank.
